As an artist, I have been told to take every opportunity coming my way. Living in Atlanta, I try to attend most of the opening of Art Galleries in Atlanta GA , for the hope of finding leads that can turn into future opportunities.
While old habits are not easy to break creating new ones is vital to put you in the right path. So, in order to be a successful artist, it would help to get rid of some old habits and way of thinking and adopt new ones.
1. Not Enough Mental Motivation
You will never have enough time, money, and confidence. This is all the underlying fear, and once you start dealing with this, then all other things would fall in place.
2. Comparisons
Dwelling on things will never make you a successful artist. Successful artists like Craig Alan , never compared themselves but focused on his work and his creativity. The comparison will stunt your growth and your creativity.
3. Working all the time
Beside work, sometimes it is important to take care of your body and health. “I get away from my studio on my bike or spend a lot time hiking to get away from long working ours in my studio” , said Pezhman who I met at Atlanta Fine Art Gallery sprawl, few months back.
4. Unhelpful relationships
End the toxic relationships which is holding you back as an artist. Spend time with like-minded people said George Charriez, an artist friend living in Atlanta. Push yourself to succeed, don’t wait for the opportunity to knock your door.
5. Perfectionism
Expecting perfection prevents you from achieving your goal. Fear of doing a perfect job will often prevent you from starting one.
6. Praise
No praise is better than sense of satisfaction you get from your artwork when is finished. Expecting everyone to like your work and praise you for it is not realistic and more importantly not necessary. A successful artist is always looking for the praise which is coming from within the heart.
7. Distractions
A successful artist is well-organized, which will cut down the stress and present you professionally.
Stay grounded and connected with the reality.
